Regular attendance is essential for student success. Please remember that absences must be reported to the school within 3 days of the absence, or the absence will be considered unexcused.

✅ Examples of Excused Absences: • Personal illness

• Medical or dental appointments

• Court appearances

• Religious holidays/instruction

• Family emergencies

• Death of an immediate family member

• Therapies

🏥 Important Clinic Information If your student is evaluated in the clinic and the nurse/clinic staff contacts a parent/guardian to pick them up due to illness, that day's absence will be excused. If additional recovery time is deemed necessary by the nurse, those days may also be excused.

❌ If a student or parent chooses to leave school without the student being sent home by the nurse/clinic staff, the absence will be unexcused.

✈️ Prearranged Absences If your student will miss school for a vacation, family reunion, wedding, or other planned event, a Prearranged Absence Request must be submitted at least 5 school days in advance. Requests can be emailed to sweetd@santarosa.k12.fl.us or submitted in writing through the front office. Once approved, students are responsible for obtaining and completing all assigned work. If the school does not receive a request, the absence(s) will not be excused.

📌 Early Checkouts & Late Check-Ins

Please note that early checkouts and late check-ins are only considered excused if the school receives notification within 3 days and the reason meets district criteria for an excused absence (illness, medical appointments, court dates, religious observances, emergencies, etc.).

❌ Early checkouts or late check-ins that are not reported within 3 days, or that do not meet the criteria for an excused absence, will be marked unexcused.
